Is it possible that this lens is available in Hong Kong as my boss is there at the moment and he said he can get it?? Not sure if i should be excited or skeptical!

He's talking the "IS" version the new one-- I personally dont thinks its worth the extra $$ over the Non IS version, heck, you can almsot get the 70-200 F/2.8 non "IS" for the same price.. well an extra couple 100..

I think the poster is talking about the new IS version of the 70-200 f/4
It is supposed to be available in the USA in November...don't know about other countries |

Thats what i am also unsure F4l is Vs F2.8 non is?
He just rang me and is going to buy in one hours time so any input would be great!!

yeah I was just reading that and im thinking the IS and smaller size might be worth more to me than the extra stop and a bit, as a cant afford the 2.8 is!

| If the extra 600 bucks is worth it to you to avoid paying 150 for the tripod mount and lugging at ripod around, go for it. IS is hella nice, but doubel the cost of the lense? Hmm. |

Well, it's a $650 increase over the non-IS model. That's about the same difference between the 70-200 f/2.8L ($1140) and the f/2.8L IS ($1700) (difference of $560) also.

I agree thats why I ended up going for the non IS. As I am just building my lens collection I can do a lot with that extra saving.
