So I participated in an urban doggy walk today through the Washington DC capitol lands. But they weren't just any dogs—Imagine more than 30 greyhounds and their owners gathering in one place and walking from the Washington Monument to the Capitol Building! It was quite the eye feast for many passers-by! Greyhound Pets of America, a greyhound rescue and adoption group, organised this fabulous walk to raise awareness for greyhound adoption. I brought my camera and got a few photos, but it was pretty difficult to have my camera on one shoulder and an excited greyhound at the end of a lead in my other hand. But I thought I'd share a few pics and if you're considering a furry addition to your household, greyhounds are some of the sweetest most laid-back dogs you can find. 8o)

Great shots Joshua, particularly the first one. Speaking of greyhounds, have you ever been to the "Reach the Beach" in Dewey Beach, Delaware? It's coming up, the weekend of October 7th. I've gone several times and there are usually around 3000 hounds there. It's amazing to see these gentle souls all mingling and enjoying their freedom. What amazed me was how quiet it was.

Yeah I've heard of the whole Dewey Beach thing but have never made it there. I actually don't own a greyhound myself, but my friend has two. Whenever she goes to events she likes to bring me along so I can take care of one. I love it! Training for when I get one for myself! But I def want to go to Dewey Beach if not this Oct, then next year! 8o)
