I won my first ribbon when I was a registered user, last October. I didn't become a member until  Strikeslip gave me a membership just before Christmas.

Three times, one before the split in members and open, one open and one members. Registered/member/whatever from the first minute (no joke, it was great to hit the update button when the site was in transition from the old situation to what we have now).

I paid, right after they started the new program. Member ever since. Still hasn't bought me a ribbon... What's up with that?!
I would suspect, no scientific data to prove it, that non membership ribbons are becoming more rare. Not because of any bias. But because I think (dangerous pastime for me) that the more motivated and avid photographers tend to join, or get sponsored. If for no other reason than to gain access to the members challenges.
Just my 1 cent worth....

Never give up Angela, as this is definately one of my all time favorite images at DPC, and I know you can do it again..... Sooner than later and I am sure about that.
I am still hoping, and sometimes feel it is still a long way off for me yet.
I don't mind as I am learing something new, each and everyday.

| Does the Blue Ribbon I won at the Buford County Fair in 1977 for the Pig Calling Challenge count? If so, then go ahead and bump me up a notch to unero number one time I've el ribboned, cause I have a feeling it ain't gonna happen by taking pictures. My average score is about 4.2, but that's cool, because I'm dating the best looking girl in Buford, Georgia and she's a solid three. After next weeks dental work, she's pushin' 5. If she shakes the head lice, then she gets a gig at Hooter's in Cumming. Life is good, if she brings home the bacon, I can spend more time SNS(snapping shots to you neophytes), and kick my career up a level. |

IMO, this is one of the best challenge entries I have seen on this site, was so perfect for the collections challenge. Truly Excellent.
My first ribbon was as a registered user but advanced editing. I became a member around a month later. It still is my most viewed, commented and favorited? (<-is that a word?) that I have taken so far.
