Weird?
Probably, but I'm from a mining town, and we have many old mining sites around here that looks just like science fictions worlds.
Those sites are not "Tourism attractions" and most peoples around here don't even know about them. I found them driving around in some old forest back roads.
It's sad to say but out of that uglyness there is some good picture to be taken. 3 of my recent entries were taken there.
There is some good news, our government recently annonced that they will inject millions to clean those old mining sites. And you should know that now, with the new laws, mines can't leave a site like that anymore, before the mine starts, they have to put money aside for the cleanup that has to be done after. Even more, yesterday, I went to one of those sites and it was close, many trucks were ther getting ready for the big "Clean Up".
