Ok so I got a Wacom Graphire4 4x5. It is awesome. I am getting the hang of it already, and I tried a few things in PS CS2, and it absolutely rocked!!!
My question is, do I need to install the bundled software. It came with :
- PhotoImpact 10 SE
- Corel Painter Essentials 2
- Pen Plus for Wacom
I already use PS CS2, Freehand, Dreamweaver, and I am pretty skilled at them. Will the bundled software give me anything more, or should I just leave them. I have never used PhotoImpact or Painter, so don't know what they are for. |

I don't know what's in the Pen Plus package.
AFAIK, the only reason you might want Painter is that is has some of the best brush/texture filters for making a photo look like "traditional" art -- watercolor, oil-on canvas, charcoal, etc. Similar to but supposedly better than Photoshop's tools for doing the same thing. Of course, it's supposed to be great to use if you want to create art by actually drawing/painting it -- personally, I use a camera/computer because I can't do that anyway ... : ) |

| Pen Plus is used to send hand written emails etc. Won't be installing that. I might install Corel Painter, just to see what it does. If I don't like it I'll uninstall it... |

The painter program is great. I went ahead and purchased the real Corel Painter IX after using the free one. Check my smugmug link below to see some painterly projects using Wacom and painter.

Thanx Kenny. I'll install Painter and see how it goes. |
