....this lens when used as a Macro? It is the Nikon 80-200 f2.8. Says has macro setting. Maximum Reproduction Ratio (Macro Setting): 1:7.1

I have a 105mm that gives 1:1 ratio. Just exactly what can I expect from a 1:7 ratio in terms of sharpness...size on frame...etc...

Nikon 80-200 f2.8 a macro ? my version does not have macro markings (two touch not the push pull)..
that being said - i have found it to be sharp across the whole range - fun but big&heavy lens
