Is it possible to open RAW format files with Photoshop Elements 4? If so, is this native or do I need to install something first?
My Pentax came with some software (Pentax Photo Browser 3 and Photo Laboratory 3) that works with the RAW files. Which would be better to use--Photoshop Elements or Photo Browser? Your thoughts?
I already am quite comfortable and proficient with Photoshop Elements, so I do not want to learn a new program if I don't have to.

| I thought that was a download - check the Adobe site. I don't have PSE4 but just remember haering something along those lines. |

The K100D is pretty new, so my guess is that PSE won't be able to open the files for a while. But check Adobe's site to see if there might be some updates.

The list of available RAW formats on the Adobe site lists the *ist Pentax cameras, but not the K series (K100D).
So, I guess I have to use the Photo Laboratory that came with my K100D. Once I tweak it there, I should save it as TIF and then I can open it in PS. (TIF so as not to lose any detail). From PS, I can then save as JPG for challenges, printing, etc.
Does this sound about right? |

That is correct.
And keep checking Adobe's site. They may release an update for the K100D. Or, since PSE5 is in release, they may not update PSE4.
