Has anyone experimented with this ink set or something similar?
Jon Cone's Piezography Neutral K7 inkset
I have not been overly impressed with the monochrome printing out of the R1800 using the standard inksetbut then again I was not expecting it either. The color printing is outstanding though. But I am curious if anyone has any direct experience using a custom inkset like this to achieve a greater dynamic range in monochrome printing.

I have never tried it but did see it recommened on a photography show for the reasons you mentioned. They didn't mention any brands just to use special inks for black and whites.so I don't think they had an agenda. Take that for what you will.

just thought i would give this another bump as I was curious about the same thing. I would also like to ask a few questions about how it works, but perhaps it is pointless if no one has tried them.
like,
what do you use for icc profiles. I didn't see any on the website, or do you just use your regular paper icc profiles from epson or whoever?
