Well took me a little longer time than a week or two like I promised in this thread but I have gotten around to at least finishing day one of the trip. Here is a link to the collection.

The thinking behind this trip/project was to take pictures of and by the national ring road. It´s kind of a ritual of passage here to drive around the country wich is about 1400km and most people just do it to say they have done it, usually do this in 2-3 days or they take 2-3 weeks and see everything BUT the ring road. Well we did it in 4 days but stopped a whole lot on the way, my goal with these pictures is maybe to make people more aware what is actually on and around the ringroad itself as I get the feeling most people don´t appreciate what´s right there around them.

Should I continue, anyone want to see days 2 3 and 4?

Decided to wait till the whole collection was finished and then post it as a whole story.

Clockwize, this time :) the plan is to go again about 6 months later or around the turn of the months january/february 2007 and then go counter clockwize and then take the best photos of both trips and have a photo exhibition next summer.

I did the clockwise tour on Highway 1 in 2005, by-passing the west fjords. The eastern tip is out of this world, roads still unpaved but the moutain views were amazing. Need a big jeep for that.

Well finally finished, ended up being 45 photos, some there for the story. Any comments are more than welcome. Going to bed now, don´t really feel like putting up 45 thumbnails now and writing something by each and every one of them, I´ll post them in a different thread some other time...

Again, here is a link to the collection.

Very nice collection. You mention the "horizon distortion" on this shot:

It's easy to fix with the skew tool...:

If you have problems, just put your clothes on, that should do the trick as it´s so cold around here that they automatically see people walking around butt nekkid as nutcases :)

Wonderful series. I loved them. My husband and I are looking into coming to Iceland for the GTG in September. It gives me much to look forward to.
