First of all, I have not been involved in either of the "30 self portraits", due to personal reasons, which I will talk about later.
Self portraits are just that, "Self Portraits", and if nude, or partly nude, that is accepted in the artworld today, for many many years.
If tastefully done, I can't see how it offends anyone, and if it does please, don't look at this thread, or any other similar thread.
It is just so simple.
I also believe we have DPC rules reguarding this matter, and as long as they are followed, there should be no problem.
DPC has some very talanted people, re this type of photography, and we should accept it, and not put it down.
I have often visited, looked and commented, on many of the self portraits, during this, and other threads.
My reason for not doing self portraits as yet, is two fold.
First, I don't think I am talanted enough in photo shop, and post processing to do any people images, real justice.
Secondly, my face belongs to me, and not photogenic at all, and really don't like having a photo taken of myself for one day, unless for family reasons, let alone for 30 days.....
I think I will crack the camera for sure, after one day.....and I love my camera much to much to do that.....
Lets enjoy what we have, and go about our photography with a little more understanding, and appreciation of all forms of photography.....
I love DPC, and get so disappointed when there is friction in the camp.....

I think everyone has expressed themselves in the Censored topic brilliantly. But I worry that people aren't getting enough coverage individually. So I am linking everyones here. As more come to play I will add them also.

I am a wee bit behind and no "Fugitive" today. Just getting over a nasty chest cold.
To weigh in on the topic that suddenly consumed this thread, I am considerably more annoyed that the topic consumed this thread than I am that some thumbs were changed to links. :( Can we move on? |

Okay, I've been inspired. Let's see how this hits people.
Day 24: Out of the Box and In the Spotlight
I'm still trying to figure out how to make it look like the box really goes right through me. I'm pretty happy with how I have the wall showing through, and I think my faked-up shadows look okay, but it still looks like a piece of wall stuck in each box instead of a window. Anyone got any ideas?

My day 24 is done...I actually got brave enough to get out with my tripod and do some shots in the real world. Ended up with quite a few shots and had trouble picking one - so here is my pick plus a bunch of outtakes....

Yeah, I'm just thread bare. ;~( I don't think you want me taking up bandwidth to show them all now, eh? I just took my "censorship" shot. It was a one time set up and it worked. heh heh heh.

What are we going to do when the SP's are over?? It's fun and a challenge every day to come up with something new. And we never are lacking for models. ha

| I was thinking of starting something similar with macro. I don't know how many people like macro work (viewing or doing) so I may be doing it myself. |
