I went into preferences and turned off all the forum posts from my DPC homepage! Now I do NOT have to see the inapropriate CRAP that has been invading good threads!

Does that mean we're now sometimes allowed to joke and laugh again? |

Shouldn't this be in Rants? In one is going to talk about disrespect in the forums, they should at least put it in the appropriate space.
Oh and QUIT HIJACKING THREADS with RANTS!!!

Unbelievable.
Why can't people speak their mind or let their hair down without someone finding a way to attack it.
This is an online community primarly dedicated to photography, but it's more like a coffee shop of people with similar interests. We should find this a safe place to come and learn, share, vent, joke, cry and generally welcome the fact that everyone is different, and I for one, and happy that it is.
* Having a bad day? Drop in and vent - works wonders to raise the spirits.
* Have a problem with a picture? Come get opinions and ideas and a fresh perspective.
* Having a great day and wanna' share something fantastic? Drop it on the community.
If everyone liked Anchovies except me, would I be wrong?
Would it be wrong to be publically belittled because of it?
Should everyone be groomed to a single way of thinking?
Enjoy life. It's too short as it is.

Well Di, hope you find what you are looking for.
Don't leave due to anything I said - I wasn't attacking you in any way. I may not agree with your opinions or views of what this site should/shouldn't be, but I did support the fact that you do an opinion and should be allowed to speak your mind with being chastized for it.
Guess you get out of something what you put into it. Maybe should have become more involved?
Regardless, the light will be kept on if you should find your way back. |

I took Brad's post (and certainly my own support of it) to be critical of those who were giving you a hard time, Di. We both completely support your right to post what you did without getting slammed for it.
Please don't go.

I respect that Di had an opinion, but don't respect the forcing of that opinion on others in a disrespectful manner.
I'm sorry that the changes we made in our conduct are unacceptable for you Di. I truely hope you can find a place where you feel comfortable. The Internet is a big place.

There are many here who would be willing to help. Next time you post a PS question in the Forums, PM me and I'll come running. ;)

Exactly where did she "force" anything on you in a "disrespectful manner"? She voiced an opinion and stated her solution.

I think when she and some others went to the level of heavily hinting that some other members should be banned in their opinion, she and the others went over the line. Instead, the good old "report post" button should have been used.
I, personally, didn't disagree with their point, just the way it was presented and the level of ire that arose when one questioned their point.
It does stink that people feel they have to leave and make such a fuss over these things, it's just not worth the stress to get so upset about much of it.

She voiced it repeatedly even after we changed our conduct. We tried to be accomodating. Our actions have been inside of the rules and limited, but we've still been called out for it in the forums. It's generally disrespectful to call people out in the forums, right? (PMs and report post being the prefered method?)
