A few days ago some of my friends went out skating. I tried shooting them for the first time. As my first try at this, I'd like some comments and tips. So if your bored, give me some words of wisdom.

Thanks!!!

The only words of wisdom I can offer here is that your friends should consider investing in helmets.

The timing looks pretty good to me. I would add some flash to light the faces e.t.c. as the shadow from the trees and the low sun sort of hide the details. I think it would help to lose some of the guys in the background of most of them and tighten up on just the skater. Might also want to slow the shutter down a bit to deliberatly add some blur to the faster moving portions, just for something different.

Left you a comment on the B&W one Dan. They all seem a bit dark, but you have a good eye, focus is good and the action shots have a good composition- tighten them up a bit though IMO. I agree with Rob, the people in the background on some of the shots are a bit distracting. Good shooting ;-)
