OK here's a new twist on the crit begging process:

Post a riddle. A solveable, but not too easy one. The first person who answers your riddle correctly receives a crit from you, on a photo of your choice.

Anyone can play, but it would be nice if people who answer then post a riddle, to keep the good Karma thing going. Get a little, give a little...

So, to start - a pretty easy one.

How can you throw a ball so that it stops and comes straight back to you, without it rebounding off of any surface?

throw it straight up in the air???

that was too easy...did I miss something?

edit:I have no riddles to post....that's part of the deal correct?

I said it was easy to get it going!

i'll crit you as soon as i figure out what my son's doing in the bathroom - it sounds very messy!

you're next!

not one? i have a few, i can give you one if you'd like?

My riddle...
"What asks no questions but demands an answer?"

I will leave a critique on any photo you'd like, Matt, and then whoever answers my riddle leaves me a critique, and asks another riddle. I think that's how it works, anyway. I could be wrong...it wouldn't be the first time. Today, even. ;)

Laurie, based on your work vs. mine, I don't think I'm qualified to critique your work, it would be like Picaso's house painter telling the artist what colors to use.

If you don't mind, just make a comment on my Seeds entry, thanks. It has to do with

Awww thanks...that's sweet of you to say...but I think you're perfectly qualified to say things about anyone's work here. You have great images and you certainly can say what you like or don't like about a picture. Don't sell yourself short!!!

Also...we aren't supposed to reveal which entries are ours in any way. It's a no-no. Also, since Seeds isn't in the voting phase, I can't critique it yet anyway. Any other shot you'd like a comment on?

Yes, Mainstreet Buford, almost finished dead last. I'm a big boy, I can take it.

laurie, it's the other way around. you give the crit to person who answered your riddle right - it's a little pize for being so darned smart...;-)

so i'm about to go and crit one for matt. he does one for laurie. and the genius who answers laurie's get one by her.

clear as mud? good.

Well, it's not the answer that was on the riddle but that surely does fit. I guess I'll take it. ;) Let me know what pic you want critiqued.

Sorry I had all that backwards. I'm not as smart as I think I am sometimes. ;)
