A situation has come up, and Wal-Mart has totally flaked on their next-day photo service and is saying that a print I needed today will be available on Tuesday. Feh on Wal-Mart!
The intended destination of said print is a wedding in New York - I believe in Rochester, but may be Albany, I'm not entirely sure, I'm getting confirmation on that ASAP.
Who in the Rochester or Albany area can produce an 8x10 overnight on upload or email? The maid of honor, who is giving the print as a wedding gift, is absolutely crushed. She has a flight to NY leaving at 3am this morning, so the grand idea is to find a place to turn it out in a hurry so she can pick it up when she lands. HELP!!!

Try Walgreens. They're everywhere and they do a reasonable job. not sure if they can do an 8x10.
You can also get it printed locally and Overnight it via UPS for Sat Morn delivery. It'll cost ya, but that's the breaks. |

I would be contacting Kinko's about now.
They can produce quality work, have electronic transfer available, etc.

Becky, I'm in Aurora. When does it have to be where? Catch me on Yahoo messenger (play_with_attitude20). We'll get it done. |

Wal mart should be able to print 8x10's at every one of their locations on the spot. Ritz Camera, Walgreens, Sams Club, Costco, they all can produce 8x10's on the spot.

I don't have Yahoo, but here's the updated story:
It's Albany, not Rochester. The flight leaves at 6:10am, so she needs it by 3am tonight if it's getting done in Colorado. Since it's not exactly expensive and she already has all the copyright letter bullcrap that Wal-Mart likes to have, we've ordered it via 1-hour through the Albany Wal-Mart and the new estimate is 10am tomorrow, which is even before she lands. Jeni's calmed down a bit, and I've pointed out that her bride is not a bridezilla (she's a friend of mine too, and I know she's totally laid back and wouldn't care one bit, but of course Jeni wants everything to be absolutely perfect for her), she will totally understand if it's not there right that second, and that the amusing quality of the story of trying to get this damn photo printed will be sufficient to substitute until UPS drops it on her front stoop. So I think we're going to be okay. Crisis seems to have been averted for now. But ugh... what a mess...

Did you send it to a walmart close to where she is staying? There are a bunch here. Not that there that far apart, but if you tell me where she's staying, I'll tell you which is the closest/most convenient. (Perhaps you looked on Google maps and already figured this out...just trying to help.)

I picked the only one I could find in a hurry in Albany through the "change store" option at checkout, which is on Washington. I emailed the address over to her. She's going to print out a map and find a way to get there. I doubt she has any clue what is close or where she's staying in relation to anything there.

Try Walgreens. They do do 8x10's and in one hour. Actually i work for a walgreens and we do it under an hour if there is only one print and you need it right away. It costs 3.99 but $5 for two. Also if you set up a business account they will give you a twenty percent discount. Also try walgreens.com In the photo tab and sign up for an account. You can send your photo online and go and pick it up. I do that all the time when printing my photos.

Ritz Camera in Crossgates Mall (less than 200 yards from that Wal~mart) is open until 9:30 every night (I think). I'm late to this thread, so I assume all is taken care of by now. I hope the Wal-Mart print is OK, I haven't had the best of luck with them.

Wolf and Ritz are one and the same. I believe she took care of it. Hope all goes well. |
