I got a lens on Ebay which was described as working, though on receipt it would not focus (Manually) through half of the range and the Macro selector ring did not move.
As It only cost me £8, I decided it would be fun to take it apart to see what the problem was!
Turns out that some fool with absolutely no idea about anything mechanical had taken it apart before and had put it back together completely arse backwards!
After about an hour of tinkering I now have a fully functional lens! I am so pleased!
Anyway, The lens is made by HOYA and is a 70-210mm F3.8 Macro. And features an M42 screw mount for use with my recently purchased adaptor.
Lenses by HOYA don't seem to be that common (I have seen one other on Ebay) and they are not currently listed in the DPC equipment lists.
Does anyone else have a HOYA branded lens? Are they considered good?
It came in original packaging with instructions and a booklet detailing all the other lenses in the range.
Since I fixed it, I have only taken a couple of test shots to ensure it focuses (Manually) correctly, which it does. I need to view these on the Computer now to see how sharp the actual images are.

Congrats on finding and repairing this old beast, it will be interesting to see how it performs! |
