I'm booked to shoot a model on location for a grunge/trash type of thing, but I've got no ideas on make and clothes for the shoot(and its the first time I'm working with that stylist).

Any ideas(preferably illustrated) would be greatly appriciated.

Here is one photo. I am still uploading to my website. But old style brick buildings make great backdrops. Have them bring a few change of clothes. What they like to ear. This way the model is comfortable.

the location is already set, but I will need to decide on clothes and makeup, the clothes and makeup should look grungy.

What does a sylist do? Just hair and makeup or the whole thing (clothes, you know, STYLE?)

Who chose grunge/trash as the style? What's the shoot for?
What I'm getting at is that if it's for your portfolio, you have a vision of what you want the end results, so this question is self-answering. If the model wants trash/grunge then she has the 'vision' and will pick the clothes that work with that vision.

You're in charge of posing and lighting, location/backgrounds and composition. Check out //www.glamour1.com -they got lots of 'grunge and trash' shots there.

Want a quick C&C?
General posing rule (and like all rules, can be broken) are if it bends, bend it, and if there are two of something (knees, elbows, eyes, etc) they should never be at the same level.

Stylist - Normaly only deals with wardrobe. You tell them the concept and what you are looking for, they put together the cloths to make it work.

Makeup Artist - Just that, they do the makeup.

Photographer - Duh!

Than, you can have Set Designers, and such... list can go on for miles. Normaly small time photographers like myself covers all the basics except make... (some do that too)

As for Grundge... Basicly you have to figure out what Grundge is for you. Is it wrinkled baggy cloths of the old seattle garage bands, or is it the dirty smell ripped cloths of a half drunk homeless person.

As for everything. You need to figure out what it means to You.
