So, I've downloaded the freebie alien skins, and virtual photographer. i love the alien skins, except the price. has anyone used both? would anyone choose v.p. in a erfect world? i love the fact that alien skins has the grain patterns of films i used to use - and they're right too! as well as the varying wavelenght sensitivities for the different film stocks - both colour and b/w. so, you can see which i want, but, can i do it with virtual photographer, or shoudl i start saving my sheckels now for when my free month of alien skins runs out?

I use VP, I have never used the other. I have found VP is not all that great after using it, sometimes, I get good results, but more often than not, I dont.

I love Alien Skins Exposure. I apply the Astia film to almost every portrait that I produce.

I use Virutal Photographer to mixed results. But it is fun to play with, notably by going Edit >> Fade Virtual Photographer and then selecting another mode, say Hue or Luminosity. Sometimes, that can yield interesting results. Also, adjusting the mode isn't legal in Basic, just so you know.

Just playing around can give the best results...the hard part is remembering how you got there.
