I want to start by saying that I don't like to complain around here. As far as I'm concerned, DPC is the bomb. But DPCPrints, on the other hand....m'eh.
I just finished placing a large order (93 prints) for a client, and it was a pain in the butt. I like DPCPrints from the standpoints service and quality - I know that I'm going to get what I ordered in a timely fashion and that I'll be happy with the results. But the interface stinks.
I'd like to suggest a few upgrades. First, when it comes time to view your prints, there should be an option that lets you see them either as thumbnails (as it is now) or in a list, with just the filename and other pertinent data shown, so that you can scan through quickly, without having to move between pages. If the files were put in alphabetical order, instead of the seemingly random order they're in now, it would make life a LOT easier.
Having seperate folders on DPCPrints that correspond to the folders in my DPC portfolio would also help a lot as far as organization goes.
As far as ordering prints goes, there's just too many pages shifts, IMO. I'd like to be able to take that master list I mentioned before, and have either check boxes or a drop down that I could use to select my print sizes from. Then when I had gone down the list and checkedthe ones I wanted, selected their sizes, to be able to click a "Submit" button on the bottom that would load the whole mass into my cart at once.
A mass upload feature would really help too, as getting 93 prints into my portfolio was the beginning of the pain.
Bottom line, I would MUCH rather stick with DPCPrints than go somewhere else. It's part of my membership, it helps support DPC (I think?) and like I said before, the service is great. But I just don't know that it's practical for large orders - I don't know if I can go through the "Click on the thumbnail, select the size, taken to cart, go back to prints, click on next thumbnail, repeat X times" thing again.
