Man Finds Mouse In Fried Chicken Meal

BALTIMORE -- No, it's not the other dark meat. Baltimore health officials say a patron of a Popeye's restaurant bit into a mouse that had been fried along with the chicken.

Mouse Found Inside Popeye's Chicken

Tony Hill, of Baltimore, says he was eating the second piece of his three-piece meal when he made the unappetizing discovery. He filed a complaint with the health department.

Baltimore City Health Commissioner Dr. Peter Beilenson told WBAL-TV in Baltimore that the restaurant has been closed twice before in the past two years for mouse infestation and unsanitary conditions. He said that his office is investigating.

"It appears to be a legitimate complaint ... but we found no evidence of mouse infestation," Beilenson said.

Health inspectors examined the restaurant Thursday morning, and Beilenson said they may soon return. texttext

Ahhhh...the urban legends start popping up again.
Snake in the 7-Up bottle, spider eggs in gum (which could be true, considering the ppm for insects allowed in food).

I didn't receive this in a forwarded email, this was from a daily local news website.

I've seen a rat on the run from a Taco Bell restaurant's front door, so ya never know, do ya? I guess he didn't think much of the food there or had a case of Montezuma's revenge.

personally I wouldn't like finding a rodent in the chicken but I will point out that there is a festival every year in Louisiana where the featured food is Fried Swamp Rat.

I used to work in food service and as much as I hate to say it rodents and insects are a common issue.
