I love that this challenge was created... and hope there will be more similar ones (at least in the level of silliness ;-)
However, I really think that a longer submission period would help. So often, the funniest shots are serendipitous - you just can't force them. Maybe a bloopers of 2006 challenge (with text allowed) would be cool? |

Somehow I read that this was supposed to be in his spirit! So Creating something like an "Far Side" comic would be ok, I mean an original, I mean not those originally but an original from me!
Isn't it ok to post something you could expect from him f.ex. today?
Or did you understand you should post one of his own old ones?
Well I have of course already put mine in, I am not telling you if it is an original one, from me or him! You probably wouldn't know if you haven't read all his books :-)

I think that whether you shoot an original Far Side-esque scene or attempt to recreate one of the actual comics, either is going to be an emulation since we use a totally different medium than Gary Larson. ;) |
And - No matter how well-read we are, I'm sure nobody here has read ALL of his comics and/or committed them to memory - so who'd know if you used your own idea... so long as it fits the general feel of his work. |

| Just rec'd the most insulting and moronic comment... objecting to the content of my image. Some people have no clue about this challenge. They should not be voting. I've requested DPC SC remove the offensive comment from my image. |

I wanted to do the outhouse one where the occupant is yelling, help help! This calls for a very special dog--and there's a St Bernard-equivalent with a roll of tp on a string attached to his collar. Would have been an easy setup, but I couldn't find the right outhouse. |
