My husband didn't "get" mine, but my 7 year old found it hysterical. I'm taking that as a good sign.

So does that mean that each and every one of us who entered the challenge have twisted mindsets?;-) Roll Call!!!I know that there MUST be more twisted minds out there - it can't stop at 39! ....at least this one went past 11:-)

i have lots of good ideas but no way to photograph them without a studio. plus i'm afraid of getting DQ'ed. i could just submit a regular shot but i'm sure everyone will be going to the max with their PS skills and understanding the rules. cant wait to vote though...should be very interesting.

well I photographed my entry today. A very hard challenge indeed. Although this morning my subject/idea hit me like a ton of bricks...

ohhh another good idea L()L

Just because something is PS'd to death doesn't mean it will be better than a straight shot! I've never understood the mentality that if it's an advanced challenge then you can't possibly use only basic even if that's all the photo really needs. And I'm thinking that the likelihood of a DQ on this is pretty low. You'd have to try really hard with a composite photo. So long as all the elements you need are initially captured in a single shot, you can replicate, move, and deleted any element you like and draw and write on them all you like. When you strip it down, the single exposure and exposure date are your only requirements.

this will be an interesting challenge. did anyone see when CBS brought the Far SIde to television? A one cell comic strip did not translate to that medium.

What she said. Freedom in the "darkroom" doesn't necessarily trump a straight print.

Looks like we're all gonna be in the top 100! I took advantage of the special rule in one small way - 99% of my image is straight from the camera.

You tell 'em babe! With one fairly significant exception, my entry is as straight-from-the-camera as anything I've ever submitted.

I can't shoot mine until my accomplice arrives late this afternoon. I finally went to my humor paper archives, dug out my favorite 12 Far Sides, and one stood out as a natural. It won't be a contender, but boy is this going to be fun to vote on. Mine will have a caption if a long title isn't permitted by dpc.

all i was saying is that for this particular challenge alot of stuff is allowed. i dont know how to do it therefore i'm not entering. i wanna compete with a great image. i dont enter crap just so i have an update button to hit. next time i'll keep my mouth shut.

I'm in. Mine would have qualified under the Basic editing rules.

We'll see how it does against those that have a lot of PS.

I was away on business untill tonight. Just did a simple set up. Not expecting too much, but I am a huge Far Side fan. I can't wait to see the entries!

Good luck all!

I`m in!!! and it`s cool to see that I`ll be in the top 100! jajaja--- But... I think I might get the brown for this one... It is just not the way I imagined it, and as I can`t be my own model this time (a lot of me already at the 30 days self portraits)I just didnt get what I wanted...AAAAnyway... good luck to all!

I have put a LOT more time into this challenge than the other 5 I've done. I began this last Saturday morning, and will probably not upload it until about 30 minutes to the deadline. And I'll bet a lot of other people will be doing the same thing, so numbers will probably go way up.

Unco-operative models, dreary light, nauseous human assistant, my image has it all! Advanced editing needed to compensate. I won't be bothered to have this in my entries no matter how it scores. Good luck all!

Woohoo.... I'm in!

30 minutes to go, 75 entries in; a respectable late spurt. Will we cross the line into 3 digits? Stay tuned for details...

Well, I needed a diversion, so I'm in.
Had some fun working on this one tonight.

Been a while since I've entered anything.

Good luck to ya, shank... With oddball user names like ours, we should be naturals for this...
