Let me disagree Scott, about the whole learning issue.
I do not find fair that the "learning" factor is mentioned (or somehow related) with the "competition" time.
When you are competing you are playing not studying.

Because Scott felt that the point which I raised were better hosted in a Rant and, regardless if it's true or not, I respect that.
Also because there is a great distinction between the original proposal in that thread (enforcing the use of comments on picture) and my proposal of actually removing them.

It was just a thought... maybe not valid. *oops*
I was just a little put off that the original thread, which had some (I thought) useful suggestions for the voting process, had gotten sidetracked into a more philosophical discussion (arguement?) over the validity of having comments associated with photos. Glimpses wants to propose they be removed altogether. |

From the Help|About page:
"The original idea behind the site was for it to be a place where the two of us and a couple of our friends could teach ourselves to be better photographers by giving each other a 'challenge' for the week."
I haven't taken a photography course before, but a friend has, and he's told me that this site reminds him of the kinds of assignments his instructor used to give out.
