I had started a thread asking which monitor to buy...LCD or widescreen...
I guess i will go in for the Widescreen.

Just one thing.... amongst the 20" monitors given below.... WHICH ONE IS BETTER AND WHY given that COST is not an issue

Viewsonic VX2025WM
Dell 2007WFP

Just amongst these two which is better and why ????

I'm not sure what you are asking here, LCD or Widescreen??

LCD is a type of monitor. Widescreen is an aspect ratio or SHAPE of monitor.

So if cost is not an issue, there is a VERY informative thread that was started by Dr Jones.

he was looking for a large LCD with extremely accurate performance with a rather signficant budget.

here it is

If you have a look at martin/dr jones's work, you will quickly see that he is a guy who does not mess around with his photographic gear. When he says top of the line pro, he means top of the line pro.

I believe that will answer your questions if you have similar or lesser expectations.

sorry .. i didnt mean lcd or widescreen (i know the difference) it was just a typo. I actually have decided on a LCD widescreen (as i was confused between 4:3 and widescreen)

Now that i have decided on widescreen i just wanted to know between these two which is better:

Viewsonic VX2025WM
Dell 2007WFP

thanks

without even looking at the specs of the two models, I'd personally go for the Viewsonic, because they have quite a good reputation with their display products. Also, if fast response rate is something you regard highly (if you play fast games, or watch high quality video) then again the Viewsonic provides super smooth 8-ms pixel-response rate, compared to the Dell's 16-millisecond pixel-response rate.

I would go with the Dell myself... I have heard very good things about the 2005fpw, and the 2007 replaced it. I have heard not so good things about some Viewsonics, but not that particular one.

In this particular case I would say that the Viewsonic isn't as good. All my lcd monitor are Viewsonic but I have heard good things about the recent crop of Dell monitors.

Look at reviews on a pc site like www.pcpro.co.uk.
