Big annual Labor Day Riverfest fireworks show tonight. Unfortunately, we were on the other side of the smoke, so a lot of the fireworks were blocked. :( I do like this one, however.

Comments appreciated :)

Don't get discouraged...keep trying! Many of mine did not turn out, but I got a few that I liked. I really wanted more of the central part of the skyline in the photo, but the fireworks were too far down river from my viewing site for that.

Do you have them posted someplace where I can see them?

Mine were done mostly at f/22 1.5sec at 400 iso.

It looks great, Judy.
We took a train excursion from Norwood down to the Montgomery Inn area.
We were told to be back on the train twenty minutes after the last boom so were limited as to how far we could go for set-up.

I'm pretty disappointed. Had high hopes for river reflection shots and the ground display on the bridge. We ended up shooting from a small park area behind the fireworks... Oh well, there's always next year.

It was an amazing display but not very photographer-friendly...smoke was a factor and so many were just toooo bright and overlapping...at least from my viewpoint.

The train ride was great, though!! Excellent food!!!

A train ride sounds interesting. The fireworks were not up to their usual standards IMO. I agree, not much for photography. It was a very pleasant evening to be out, however, and was fun even though the pictures were so-so.

My first year and I wasn't sure what to expect.
I tried bulb mode using my remote cable. Figured I might as well experiment since I didn't like the comp. I'm glad I did. When it got too bright I just stopped shooting. I got some pretty good exposures, just not what I was envisioning.

Here's a link to my Fireworks shots. It's the two folders labeled with July in the titles. These are totally unedited.
