I was worried the burning was too much and took away from it.

Thanks for the feedback! I am trying to get a couple of these shots ready to give to the band, and it is nice to be able to run them by some others to get an idea of what reaction I might get.

I like the second as well. :o) My only suggestion would be to clone out the lil thing on the left of the sidewalk - it kept drawing my eye. Nice burn job though! Hard to do without it overlapping and beoming too much.

they both are too dark for my taste -

I'd go all "joey" on them and show the band one like that - I think this shot lends itself to that treatment

I like the second one, I agree they are a bit dark (at least on the band members) and I'd add it looks like you went a bit heavy on the neat image. Unless they are a band of the smoothest skin people alive. Or something is making the faces look to me like mannequins at any rate.

Great advice on the darkeness, I actually got a bit crazy in rawshooter and uped the contrast a bit much on everything. I didn't use neat image, but I probaby went heavy on the unsharp mask and it had the same effect.

and

I am going to start over from rawshooter and try and keep them lighter to begin with...
