You know, this thread is not really very photography related, but it's the kind of thread that really makes DPC what it is... I really like the threads that add some friendship and laughter to the site...

not trying to open a can of worms or anything, just making an observation...

Is he gone yet? Can we start that 24 hr "What is Bear Music?" challenge? I actually think something like that would be a neat idea, except make it a full week, of course.

No he's not gone yet, and he's still up. He'll leave the house around 2:30 AM :-)

Then we'd have to go looking under books, fine cuisine and with our luck, would end up having 400+ beach sunrise/sunsets pictures to vote on. Wait - this might be just what we need! (muhahahaha - rubs hands togeher)

Robert would have to vote and comment on each and every one, and by the time it was done, would be so sick of looking at purdy beach shots, he would never set foot on the sand again and give us mere mortals a fighting chance in the challenges.

That's a nice sentiment, Brad, but I've got exactly ONE ribbon off a sunset (two if you count the time/date DQ image), and both were shot in a marsh, not on the beach. If you wanna be faithful to my "vision" you gotta shoot in marshes and estuaries primarily, with the odd beach thrown in for variety.

And on that happy note, I'm off to Florida. It's time to hit the road. See y'all later :-)

Toot toot!

Have a nice trip...and while you're there, make the trek over to Sanibel Island. You won't regret it!

Cannon Beach! Woot Woot!
Tis a bummer that I'm at college when you'll be visiting. Enjoy the stay (and get a beach ribbon winner for me ).

Just to prove I was actually IN Florida, here's what they call a "Florida room"... It was mostly raining on us, and we had a lot of work to do, so I actually never explored the countryside at all... Now I'm touching base back at home, and then off the Oregon and "Zoomdak's beach"...

Get any good bikini pics in Florida? Oh, I thought you said a "two- thong" trip and you had to come back for more :-)

Have a very enjoyable and safe trip my friend. If you ever happen to be in this neck of the woods, don't hesitate to call.

I would love to be your host and attempt to repay you for harbouring me and showing me the sights on the Cape.

Whatever happened to the second largest country in the world where I was born?

Yes, I did, thanks. But I don't know why you're asking that in this thread. ;-))))
