I'll be in Vegas from October 10-13 for a business conference, and was thinking of staying the weekend after the conference to visit one or two of the parks in the area. I was looking at Death Valley but don't know if 2 days and a required drive from and back to Vegas would be cutting it too close.

Valley of Fire and Red Rock was also suggested, but they don't seem to have the same allure of DV.

Any comments on the feasibility of Death Valley over a 2 day stretch? Anyone familiar with the parks interested in meeting up for some shooting? I see a lot of nice shots of these places from DPC users, and my biggest fear is that I make the trip, have to go it alone, and my shots fall far short because of my lack of skill, equipment, and knowledge of the area. Always looking to learn from others, and having someone with more experience nearby is always a good thing.
