I found a few companies that operate like photographersdirect, in a sense that they send you a list of photos that their customers are looking for. The thing is that they all have membership fees.

Woud you guys be reluctant to sign up with a company that charges membership fee?

pretty much most of them are like that. I am getting desperate to find a place which operates like photographersdirect.com. I found one that wants you to pay membership but then you don't pay any commission on the pictures sold

No way I'd sign up with any agency that wanted me to pay them before they did anything!

They've got a much stronger incentive to get out there and sell my work if that's the only way they stand to make any money...

Maggie, have you tried MyLoupe.com or Blish.com?

MyLoupe has photo requests?
I've heard that the sales on MyLoupe suck.
I've never heard of Blish.com. I am going to check it out...

Hmm, I just looked at Blish.com. It doesn't look too good. Are you using it?

I use both of them, but haven't been active enough with blish to make anything there. I do okay with MyLoupe, though I've only been using them as a stock source, I rarely answer their photo requests, but yes, they do email requests like PD does.

How do you respond to photo requests on MyLoupe? Do you deal directly with a client or does MyLoupe contact the client on your behalf. Also, can you see what pictures people sent for a particular request?
Maybe I should start a new thread about My Loupe :)
