I'm in no way complaing about where this finished.. I was thrilled to score a 6. (And the fact that someone thought it was Bear_Music's shot was also a nice surprise! :))

But I do have a question.. Is there really not enough soft focus here? The majority of my comments were good, but I had 2 telling me that my shot wasn't soft focus. That confused me because I thought it was really soft. Any opinions? Should I have gone softer than this?

I have to agree it's not that soft; it's more like tack sharp with a glow effect. It's quite lovely; I'm flattered someone though it was mine :-)

I guess soft focus is in the eye of the beholder. No matter.. it's an exceptionally beautiful picture. Congratulations.

I think i know what you mean, and i agree, imho people were looking for a extremly obvious blurry daze soft focu (and just that), just look at the top 3, if any other technique/tricked was used it confused them
Shame because soft focus has many 'softness'levels..

Atleast your commenters seemed to take the time to formulate a comment specific to your image.

Eighteen of us received this comment word for word:

"Shallow depth of field but dead on focus thus not "soft". Nice Shot though - 5"

Actually, the first half who recived that cut and pasted comment didn't even get the clarification of the "thus not 'soft'" part. He added that to the last half of his pastings.

Well, since you were calling someone out on their comments I thought I'd take a peek to see who it was. Then I looked at your soft focus entry - it's a nice image but it's not very soft and the comment is in line concerning your photo.

edit - spelling and removed potentially offensive remark.
