Is it OK for a Member "advanced editing" Challenge to ad a texture to a photo through using a filter in Photoshop? The texture would be added to the whole photo through Filters/Texture/Texturizer... It doesn't change any elements in the photo, it just ads interest...
Is it allowed?
Thanks in advance for educated answers.

I think that the rules say that filters are ok in advanced editing, but generally frowned upon by the voting masses. |

Filters are ok, as long as the effect does not add, or remove, or move anything that could be a 'major element'. However, as mist points out, an effect gone 'too far' could get hammered in the voting, if folks start seeing it leaning too far toward digital art, and less like photography. |

What if a filter or process was a retro style one that used to be done with chemicals / film photography? Do you think people would still hammer it or it have more a normal chance as it is an accepted method of displaying prints... I don't want to say too much incase I opt for a method kind of outlined (very vaguely) above.
