So every once in awhile, I see a thread paying recognition to a certain member who is sometimes overlooked. I thought I'd start one...

Kelly Brannon, or CalliopeKel is by far one of the most improving and fantastic photographers I've seen around here. She's practised photographing her kids a lot, and has just started to venture out with some new interesting faces and people.

To me, her style when taking pictures of people is classic and edgy. Her eye sheds light on what is important in the photograph... It's like an unhumorous caricature, all the original features exist but the prominent elements have been emphasized.

Please please, look into her portfolio and take a gander there. Great stuff Kelly!

Here are some of my personal favourites of hers:

I couldn't agree more! Raise the flag and all hail Kelly!! Some of us already believe she will be conducting 'How'd they do that?' sessions before long...

There also happen to be some fantastic women in her images, and I don't mean just because they're sexy! (wink wink Kelly - ya gotta let me know how things went with your latest session)

Ahem - we now return you to your regular programming, already in progress....

She has been on my Favorites list since May 06. Shots of her big eyed kids are the best....

Agreed, ever since this image she has been my favorite photographer here, and I spend hours trying to recreate her feel and can't get anywhere near it. LOL

Been a huge fan of Kelly's for ages now. :)

I added a nudity warning to the thread title for those that may be at work. For some reason the image is flagged as nude but it doesn't show the "nude" replacement thumbnail when posted in the forums.

Thanks Konador. my daughter already accidentally saw it. i just said "it's art and it's natural, now go play in your room".lol but i'd rather not having to explain why it's ok to lay around nude.

Kelly's already in my faves, but I just added you. You do good work, too!

I just added her to my faves a few days ago. Some really exceptional photos in her portfolio, but I particularly admire her portrait work. Fantastic stuff!

I've been a fan of Kelly's work, but it had awhie since I looked through her portfolio. I have to admit that I was shocked by the quality of the work she has been producing lately and I grabbed up half a dozen new favorites right away. The depth of this work is amazing. I'm not going to ask how she gets that look, because it just wouldn't be right, but I'm sitting her wondering how I push myself to achieve anything close.

OMG. I'm about to cry! That was really sweet Joey, and totally unexpected. I just love dpc and am so inspired by all the amazing talent and hard work you guys go through to produce such amazing images. I must admit I have learned and taken techniques from many of you, and some of you I'll never be able to emulate because you're just too dang good. You gotta know I love my camera, but more importantly my subjects.

This makes my day! Thanks everyone!

Kelly
