the weather has been too cruel to me. oh, pittsburgh, why can't you show me the sun just one day?

on the other hand, i just had the first day of my first photography class today. it's mostly a basic darkroom skills/beginner photography course, and i am only taking it as a requirement for a photog minor and a prerequisite for more interesting classes, but it will still give me some nice shots.

and also a studio with some nice hot lights and backdrops to play with.

general comments and whatever accepted with enthusiasm.

some good candids :)

i like the third one the best because i think it has the best exposure, and the crop is better then the other two. With the other two i would try to include mroe of the head, in my opinion you seem to havve cut off a little too much from the top. But awesome job!

Overcast light is the best, seriously. Except for some landscapes..

I think you should move to Greece... lol
We've got the sun over our head 90% of the year. Sometimes we pray for a rainy day.

wow. when i took these pictures of her i told her i'd probably post them on facebook later so she could see them, and she said that was fine and she didn't mind.

i just posted them last night and she sent me a message asking me to take them down because they're "very unflattering".

i dunno. sometimes i'll take pictures of people that don't exactly show their best sides, but i never post pictures of people unless i feel like if i were that person i wouldn't mind having them online. on the flip side, a lot of people have posted some of the crappiest pictures of me i've ever seen, and the most i'll do is detag them so people can't find them easily, i won't go and request that they be physically removed from the internet because i find them 'unflattering'.

i mean, okay, it's her right, and i took them down...i just feel pretty insulted as a photographer.
