Thank goodness we have had a really clam season this year.

Lets hope it burns out and it just gives some folks some much needed rain. Just some positive thoughts from someone on the coast that is thinking happy thoughts so that it will just be nothing more then a little rain.

It should be gone by then, Robert. Looks like its gonna blow and hit wherever it hits by Tuesday or Wednesday.

National Hurrican Center map -- they update every 3 hours.

If it's strong, rumor is predicting a 3 right now, they'll still be cleaning up on Saturday. The big thing is - what it looks like after it leaves Cuba.

Robert, are you in town on business or pleasure...pictures?

It has been calm, but now we head into the turbulent months. Hurricane season runs through the end of November. This former Floridian worries that things have been too calm.

^and we've learned not to be too sure with the months after a storm starting in December.

We've gone through the pain of the 2004 season, and last season which wasn't too bad for Florida, at least where I live. Even during the 2004 season when we were hit by 4 (or was it 5?) hurricanes, most of the indirectly but close enough to be stuck inside the house for the duration they were around, where I lived, some people around us had damage to their houses, but our house, we were spared except for a few lost pieces of the fence.

I have a feeling we're going to get through this year just fine. But you can't trust and predict the weather so I could be totally wrong.

Business; finalizing the editing/design of a book of poetry for a client from Ireland who will be in Florida for the week. I'll take the camera, of course. Anyone from here live around there? Cindi, are you truckin' over?

I'm in Naples, about 30 minutes south of Ft.Myers Beach. I'd enjoy meeting you Robert, as you, Steve Davidson and the landscape learning thread was what attracted me to DPC.

Tropical Depression #5 [that is now TS/Hurricane Ernesto]
*sung to the tune of Mambo #5
Hats off to my brother-in-law, Scott, for the bit of humor in a stressful situation.

A little bit of pressure going down,
A little bit of winds spinning around,
A little bit of moisture's what I need,
A little bit of satellite data feed,

A little bit of warming in the sun,
A little time 'till category 1,
A little bit of UKMET and of BAMM,
A little bit of "whew" makes me your manĂ¢€Â¦

For anyone else in the path please STAY SAFE and PREPARE NOW.

If it keeps raining here in Central NC, I'm going to be on the coast!
