After making some glib comments on this forum yesterday while I was at work and without access to editing software I thought I had better throw my version in the ring. I kept it quite simple, just contrast mask, levels, some dodge, not much burn
I agree that some of the edits don't really keep the australian colours. I haven't been to Gins leap, but I have been to Narrabri and I think I got the colours pretty close

hey Amy, what program do you use for processing? I can tell you what my exact steps were (if you like my version that is) but it won't be much help unless you have photoshop.

Another shot at it. This time I ran it through Alien Skins Exposure for a Velvia look and then bumped the curves a bit.

There is a free Velvia/Provia action here

I did my thing re photoshop with your image, the same as what I do for all my landscapes, and this is the result Amy.....

I really like what you have come up as well, sweet grandaughter.

One more?

Select highlights then use selective colors to give the sky a natural hue.

Select midtones, do the same.

Select shadows, up yellow and green sat a tad then curves to increase contrast. Don't see any need for USM here as there is no detail to be brought out that enhances the photo.

Crop to taste.

Very nice photo, I love the reds on the rock face.

The more I thought about it, the more I thought
a wide-aspect ratio really did this justice:

Thanks, that was my first post is these forums and I wasn't sure how I would be received. I really like the more realistic colours in these later versions!
