Anyone knows a place where they sell this lens for a reasonable price and where there's no waiting list at all (or almost no waiting list)?

I'd like to have it as fast as possible without paying 1100$CAN when it's supposed to be 800$CAN.

Thanks!

Not sure on the size of the waiting list, but you may want to check out //www.thecamerastore.com/. They are based in Calgary and have heard they are excellent to deal with, pretty sure their shipping side of things is the same.

What are these things going for these days? And I don't mean buy it from the store and wait 6 months for it. I mean the you have one, I want it price.

There's lots of them on eBay - you just have to buy a D200 to go with it.

Well, I have ordered it from about 5 stores and haven't gotten one yet, but since I'm leaving on vacation in a couple of weeks I had to bite the bullet and buy one on ebay for $965 US. I figure that I should be receiving one in the mail from the stores I ordered from in the coming month or two, so I will put it on ebay for $965 and will then recapture the "premium" I had to pay to get it before I left on vacation.

Sooo, to answer your question, buy one on ebay if you want it now, otherwise be prepared to wait at least three months to get one through a store.

Cheers,
-Jeremy

P.S. I got my 18-200 in the mail today. So far so good. The zoom creeps a little if the camera is held with the lens in the verticle position, but everything else works well.

My zoom creeeps a lot when I carry the camera slung over my shoulder. I've taken to using a rubberband stretched between the lens hood and the hot shoe.

edit: sorry I'm no help in how to get one. I went to B&H everyday until I caught them with one in stock and ordered immediately. I've had it now for a few months.

I was afraid of that. It seemed to creep around, I haven't carried it over my shoulder for any length of time yet, but the rubberband idea is a good one.
