This was absolutely amazing to see and to photograph. Place - Western Cape South Africa. Once a year (after the first summer rain) wild flowers start to grow in an otherwise semi-desert area.
If God had a garden - this would be it. Stunning views.
Hereis a photo that I have taken. I took loads more (filled over 1Gig)

It was amazing - My family (They live there and is used to the place) sat in the car waiting for me while I walked around shooting away at all kinds of angkes.

A similar bloom event occurs most years in the Anza-Borrego desert over the mountains east of San Diego. It can be quite spectacular. It may not look like much to people from temperate areas/climates, but to those who live in arid, desert regions this sudden appearance of fields of blooming wild flowers is just sort of miraculous...
