LOL, I know! I can't even fathom what they would think was illegal about mine, and I've got a validation request!

how do you know if you have a validation request? Do you get PM'd or what? I half-heartedly expect to get one although it is totally legit. I figure someone would request it. |

You get a PM and it also shows below your picture on the front page. |

Alright, I can no longer predict the responses of DPC voters!
My StDavidson score - which I thought would be a mid-high five entry is now at 6.3xx while my soft focus entry (a sure-fire 6 + shot I thought) languishes in the 5.8/5.9 range.
At one stage, admittedly well before WPL2 started, I had a double digit string of 6+ shots but now I seem to have no idea how my images will score.
Now admittedly, a couple of my recent entries have been last minute efforts purely for the sake of not letting the WPL team down (see gold, perspective challenges), but I still feel the need to ask, has DPC changed, or has my judgment just become worse?

i'd suggest the DPC is ever changing... _and_ that you've let your judgement slip for the sake of the WPL... i know, since it has started, i've posted my 4 lowest scores yet (one of them a self-DQ after 3 days, the rest in gold, perspective, fireworks) and soft focus now about 4.2ish... on the other hand, i've posted a lot more 6+ scores and about to (possibly) replace my second spot with my score in this challenge... so yeah... it's having an effect, but i'd suggest that it is a net possitive...

The voting for the stdavidson challenge is not going to be representative of a normal voting pattern. This is a more lighthearted challenge than most, and people are voting accordingly. The last Self-Portrait challenge was much the same way. And frankly, I approve. This isn't a challenge to be taken too seriously. For my part, I didn't give out anything less than a 5 for this one, and I do usually have a fair number of 4's and a couple 3's. Lots of 6's and 7's for this one. I know there's no way in hell my entry, hovering around 5.1, would ever score above a 4.5 in a serious challenge.

So I guess I shouldn't be happy that I am bouncing between 5.3 and 5.6....I thought my pic was good...and 5.6 would be my best ever. I would hope it would be a light hearted challenge, but with that in mind the photos should have all been light hearted. Some unique-light hearted photos are going to suffer to the gorgeous conquering landscape photos. I regret that kind of voting.
