I just got a new computer, the old one was more than 4 years old and that´s all fine and dandy. I am installing photoshop cs2 on the new one and that´s all fine and dandy too but how do I copy all my custom made actions from the old computer to the new one, I cant really figure that one out as I am no computer wiz... I suppose I could make them all from scratch, that´ll just take a couple of hours I´d rather spend doing something else...
Help? |

They should be where wazz is pointing, but if they are custom actions, you will need to have saved them first, before they will be there.
Click on the action you want to save, click the little arrow at the right of the Actions window and click save actions.
You will have to save each of your custom actions independently and you can save them anywhere you want.

Great!
After you put them in the correct folder on your new computer you will have to load those actions with the same menu before you will have access to them.

Okay, going to revive this oldie. I'm trying to save my actions in PS7 so I'll have them when I switch computers and upgrade. When I highlight the action in the Actions drop down, either alone or in a group, and click the arrow to open the list of options, "Save Actions" isn't clickable. Any ideas?
Edit: Nevermind. I had to click the Action Group title to do it! Okay, this is what happens when I play with the computer after not sleeping all night. :-)

I save all my custom actions into another Folder (3rd Party Photoshop),, outside of the PS folder. I also save them in the appropriate one n PS, too. Doing this keeps any upgrades, etc by any software from resetting or changing the settings without permission. :)
Plus you can find them faster.
