When you're browsing member's portfolio's here on DPC which layout do you prefer? Categories (people, marcro, nature, etc)... with subcategories? No categories at all? Is there anything in particular that really turns you on or off when browsing a portfolio?

I usually browse their portfolio without looking at the categories.
But on some members, I tend to browse at categories that he/she is best at. For instance, if someone is good at IR photos, I will look at his IR sub-directory before looking at the rest.

I find the portfolios arranged in catagories (with sub-catagories or concepts underneath) to be the most intuitive to browse. It is much easier to compare and contrast their portraits (for example) when I'm not also having to look thru landscapes, abstracts or whatever.

What I find the least helpful is no catagorizing at all -- everything uploaded to the portfolio and seemingly forgotten.

The second least intuitive is arranging by date -- unless the dates fall into 'Concepts' mentioned earlier, such as 'Pics A Day' and time progression images.

A while ago I had the current/previous months shots in date albums. As each new month started I'd put the oldest months shots into their proper albums. I stopped it when I was only uploading a picture or 2 a month (a bit like now lol).

Nudity? Nah, I didn't type that did I? LOL

I have mine organized pretty much by type (macro, people, etc) and move my challenge entries into them when they fit a category.

I hadn't given much thought to any other way of doing it.

so what you're saying is that you skip my IR folder every time, right?

I click the "show all" option and then I click the arrow that shows all the thunbnails to the photo.
The only thing I don't like about this is that if I click on a thumb to see the full size and then hit the back button, all the thumbs are gone and I have to click the arrow again.
It's not that big of a problem unless the person has a lot of pictures in their portfolio and it can then take a while to load again.
