| I have one of those GPS units but it never occured to me to connect it to my SLR.... clever but why??? |

It encodes the GPS data into the EXIF data, a real plus for those who need to organize their images geographically. If you travel and shoot a lot, it's a godsend.

How often you need GPS data coupled with on-board flash? Isn't it sort of a landscape-shooter's thing?
