I just got a horrible phone call. I shot my first and only wedding in June of this year. The phone call was from a friend of the bride. They just found the bride...she committed suicide Wednesday. I'm frantically pawing through the photographs now, looking for a photo for her children and crying.

Maybe this is why I photograph inanimate objects...there are no memories attached to those, no pain like this.

I am so sorry about your news-- so tragic. To me, it seems lucky that you photographed the wedding, so that her loved ones could have a memory of her smiling. Take care. I hope things are looking up soon.

My deepest condolences. What a very tragic tale and for a newly wed to be so unhappy... it's very sad.

I found two shots from the wedding photos...the sons and their girlfriends, and the sons with the grandchildren. I will make sure they get them and know how wonderful I thought their mom was. She was so vibrant that day...

I am so sorry. You are doing a kind gesture to go through the photographs. To give the family a photo or two of her when she was probably her most happy will help them remember her in a way we'd all like to be remembered -- smiling, happy and celebrating -- for that is the joy of life.

Warmest wishes,
Renee

Wow that's terrible. A new bride and "commits" suicide 3 months later. Very sad. Sometimes people can't and don't deal with the problems they have and let tend to let things overwhelm them. What they don't understand is they cause so much pain for those they leave behind. My condolences. :(

My son met a young woman who after only three months of knowing him wanted to get married. He told her it was too soon. A few days later, she committed suicide, and sent the note suicide note to him via email

He is devastated- He didn't even realize it was a suicide note till he found her.

I understand the grief that you feel right now. With suicide there seems to be no answers. I think it's wonderful that her family will have your lovely photographs of her.

I have personally had it happen in my family.
It is something you never really get over.
My thoughts go out to the family.
