Here are some shots I took over the weekend at a horse show my niece was participating in. She's 16 years old and bought Ringo by working all last summer at a donut shop. This is his first season in the ring, her second. It's also the first chance I've had to use my camera in a long time, so, I though I'd post these just for the heck of it. :)

Enjoy!

I am a "recreation" horseshow photographer. I freelance shows, but I don't consider myself a professional. Jumping shots can be tricky. I would try snapping the pictures a split second after the take-off. The pictures here are showing the landing, so the knee's have already started to come down and the bascule is gone. By snapping the picture a bit earlier, you would have gotten the knees up and square and a bascule. Nice form for your niece!! Head up, heels down, nice release and a flat back. I'll post some of mine when I figure out how!

Thanks you two.

Yea, the pp was quick and dirty and I agree, they could be a bit brighter. Looking back at the raw's, the error is on my side, for sure.

This is the first time I've photographed a show. You're right on the jump shots. I need to anticipate them better. These were the best in that regards. The rest actually show the landing. Next show is late september. I learned a lot this go around and hope to do better next time.
