OK, first off, let me start by saying I hate you people who have great landscapes and places to take photos. Living in the middle of Oklahoma really restricts this for me.
For those of you who are geographically challenged, like I am. Where do you get your ideas for photos?

Mike, I lived in OK for a couple of years in the late 80's. I remember trips to the Arbuckles being quite a photographic haven - although quite a ways from OKC. I hear you though - if memory serves me right, the highest point in OKC (other than downtown buildings) is a highway bridge near the airport. |

There is great photo opportunity everywhere -- some places just take less imagination and creativity to see. ;)

Mike,
Sometimes it's not where you are but when you are there!
Maybe we can get out and shoot together sometime?

Eh, the grass is always greener on the other side dude. Man, I live in Iceland, a landscape photographers paradise and my favorite subject is shooting people so go figure... :) |

David, Robert, Jim,
Thanks. I also try a bit of everything (I think my portfolio proves this). Yes, the highest point is the bridge...yay. I guess part of the problem is that I don't get much of a chance to get out because of the kids and pending Big D.
I do have my camera with me almost everywhere just in case the shot comes up.
Larus, I agree...I used to live in Keflavik. Too bad I wasn't into photography back then.
Ken, that sounds like a plan.

I get my ideas from being f'd in the head. Seriously I get most of mine right before I fall asleep for set up shots. My wife and I try to travel a little. Also I just try to look everywhere for a shot. |

I live in an equally desolate state. I try to keep in mind that every photo should tell a story, and that there are stories everywhere worthy of being told. |

I live in a decent area for photos, but I still have trouble coming up with ideas some times. I read once to consult photo books of the local area, as well as postcards and things like that to inspire ideas too. |
