I've been here 2 months and I'm just starting to build my portfolio. With that comes begging for comments and a committment to reply in kind.
So here are my first 4 - starting a Pier portfolio. I'm really looking for technical / composition comments. Since sunrise and sunset are pretty regular occurances, I can always head to the beach to work on making better photos.

Hey Josh, I left you a couple of comments also. My On the Beach entry was taken on Naples Beach also. I'm live in Miami and I went to Naples with a particular shot in mind, but my entry is not exactly what I was hoping to put together.
While I was over there I gained the interest of an Art Gallery that is now considering buying some of my prints. They asked me for more local scenes to add to my portfolio and the Naples Pier was one of the scenes that they wanted.
I've been planning on taking some more shots of it, but I wanted to do something different. That pier has been photographed so often that I think it is now necessary to really think out of the box for a unique shot. It seems that you have definitey broken out of the box on a couple of your shots of it. Very nice!
BTW, for the fun of it, wear polarized sunglasses and look down from the pier into the water around the swimmers. When I was there a couple of weeks ago I saw several Black Tipped Sharks (about 4 to 5 feet long) swimming with the beach goers! |

| Thanks all for very helpful comments. Not only am I excited by the comments, I'm delirious as Man Utd are 4-1 over Fulham at half-time. So I'll get busy returning comments after the game. |
