Yes, Sherpet is back from her tropical holidays at a tropical resort.
First morning awoke in the train, to a tropical sunrise. Lazing by the pool with this amazing reflection. Everyday, was amazed with the site of tropical flowers, and wildlife. & & . Visited the boat harbour at Airlie Beach.
Loved all the tropical islands we visited. &
We also did the tourist run in a bus, to some golden beaches.
We ended our holiday the same way it started, with a Australian sunrise, close to home. Please visit my portfolio, as I am uploading images everyday of our holiday.
Now did anyone miss me while I was away.....

Yes, we missed you. I'm glad to see you in the forums again and glad that you had a good vacation.
I like the colors and the composition in most of your photos. However, they all look a bit over-processed. They seem very soft, but at the same time oversharpened. The colors appear to be over saturated or the contrast levels boosted too much. I've noticed that this will have a detrimental effect on the sharpness of the final pic. This is the most evident in the one titled 'Blue Skies & Golden Sands' in which it looks like the Shadow/Hightlight tool was used a little too much also.
In a lot of your more abstract works this can be done with good artistic results, but when it comes to capturing beautiful landscapes, sometimes you've got to let the camera do most of the work. You've got a good camera, so in this case, I think "less is more".
I hope that I'm not mistaken about the over-processing and haven't just put my foot in my mouth or rained too much on your parade. I would like to (in DPC spirit) offer some helpful tips from some mistakes that I have made and learned from.
On the good side and like I mentioned above, I like the colors that you encountered and especially like the composition of most of your shots, especially Blue Skies & Golden Sands, Golden Sunrays, and Tropical Island Paradise.

I have to agree that you have done wonderfully with your composition but several of the shots looks overly sharpened and overly saturated causing them to look unrealistic and near painting like rather then photos. I'm not sure if its the resizing that has done this or if its general overprocessing thats caused it. Especially the ones of the birds and a couple of the landscape photos. I'll try to get to doing some individual critiqueing of them this afternoon.

Welcome back, fellow Outcast. Looks like you had a wonderful time :-) I'd agree there are some post-processing issues here, but nothing you can't fix for sure.

I have now replaced all images re suggestions and so pleased that it was pointed out to me.....
Yes, I agree that they look like they were over processed. I have now added no color at all to the three Lorikeets images, in my portfolio. I have only used a small amount of sharpening as suggested. I processed & replaced all three parrot images, with the use of curves, dust& scratches, and noise only.
I also replaced the "Blue Skies & Golden Sand" image as well, with the same suggestions.....
I also think my days at processing at night may be the cause of me overprocessing my images, so I have learned quite a lot re these suggestions, and from now on will only process my images during the day.
A special thank you to yakatme, & MattO, for saying something, and allowing me to learn from my mistakes.....
I just love DPC, and you all just ROCK.....
