It's the Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D. It's the brightest lens I ever had. I just felt that I had to tell somebody.

added: I don't talk like that. ("I got me new lens today" sounds like a pirate.)

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrr. And what's wrong with pirates?
heheheh Congrats on the lens. It might work well for the soft image challenge. BTW if you ever need any replacement parts for that baby,
I might be able to help you out. heheheheh

Thank you Kirbic!
I had been remiss in my planning of my pirate party.
And congratulations on the 1.4; Though I love my 1.8, I'll admit my jealousy over that extra bit of a stop. |

I bought it new from B&H. I looked on eBay, but I would have had to wait longer and then there is that risk you run. What if there was a scratch. It would be my luck.
I really needed it cuz I am going to NYC to meet up with MrEd for a DPChallenge GTG. (There is a thread for it somewhere.) I will be there the night before, and I really really want to try some night city shots.
And street people... I was at this place once near SoHo that was incredible. I didn't have a camera with me. It was this homeless person flea market. They were selling things that noone would want. I think maybe that they did this so they couldn't get in trouble for panhandling.

| My first try at my fire entry was at night and it was a week or so after I got this lens. I couldn't believe the shutter speeds I was able to get, I was able to shoot it all handheld. It just blew me away. Definately the best lens I have now for very dark situations. |

| Congrats on your new lens Tony. Can't wait to see what shots you come up with. Now......if I can get my wide angle, I'll be ready. Time's running short. |
