Weirdest thing just happened on SS.
I was in their forum and I responded to a post about whether we could resubmit images after they were rejected.
My post said something along the lines of...that I run all my images through Noiseware Pro, but there didn't seem to be any tried and true way of knowing for sure if SS would accept them..that it seemed to be a crapshoot. I said that maybe the reviewers have different personal standards of what noise is and maybe that factored in as well.
I went back to the thread later to read other replies and my post was edited. I had two small paragraphs and the second one was gone entirely. I can understand if they didn't like what I said, but it was just a theory and may very well be true. What one reviewer might like, another may reject. I didn't even get a notification that I was going to be censored.
I'm just floored. |

I find the SS forums pretty hostile at the best of times, i think as soon as you involve money people can turn nasty! |

I'm not a fan of the SS forum. They are downright hostile. I watch the fireworks, but I won't post there.
For me however, I am earning a wonderful return on my photographs at SS so I guess I can't complain.

I agree 100%. There are a few there truly want to help but they are far and few between. There is one photographer that I simply can't stand (won't mention any names here). This person has never said anything good about anyone̢۪s work but doesn̢۪t hesitate to comment on sub-standard (at least in his/her eyes) work. I guess he/she really thinks his/her work is the greatest on earth or something. In my eyes I think it is average at best. Ok sorry for my rant.. I feel better now (-:

What's funny is that last week or so, I read a thread there where people were complaining that the newbies don't spend enough time in the forums. So, I decided to be more active. And today I decided to not be. On a happier note, I've been approved with IStock and am now uploading all my stuff to there and Fotolia as well. Yay. |

Is anyone following this over at the SS forums?
Cockfighting
I think this alludes to what we have been talking about. Pure acid.

I've just posted in THIS discussion over there. One chap is INCREDIBLY rude (I wont name names), I knows hes good at what he does... but his personal skills leave much to be desired!
Have a look and see what I mean, it cant just be me! |

I read the cockfighting thread and didn't waste my time responding. Those people are hostile.
I'm taking a break from stock for a while. I'm a Network Engineer by day and my employers have asked me to get certified in a couple different things and studying for those is taking all my time and concentration. :( Blah!

im not a fan of shutterstock...they rejected some of my images that almost all other stock images approved - and their reasons didn't make any sense. |

Every single post I've made at shutter stock has been ignored :-)
Here, at least I have a 50% chance of annoying someone ... hehe

I just can't get over how many personal attacks are made towards the poster of the thread. I mean seriously... it's COCKFIGHTING! How can you defend that??!!
cheekymunky: Unreal. That is a another classic example. That thread shows exactly why I avoid that board like the plague.

I dunno...Cockfighting is evil, bad, etc... but I don't see having the images up there as them defending the sport. A lot of things are evil and bad but are photographed.

LOL
I had a bit of a rant there yesterday... feel kinda cleansed now! Wont do any good though, so I'll just leave them to their brown-nosing and back-stabbing. I'm glad the SS forums exist, makes me realise how lucky I am to be a part of DPC. |

I could care less about cockfighting. I personally find it reprehensible but that's my opinion. I have a major problem with the way people talk to each other on those forum.

That's for sure... we have our bickering and a few cockfights of our own, but overall, DPC is quite tame in comparison to a lot of other forums.
