I looked online but it tells me that it is 6.8 inches long BUT it also says my 100mm macro is 4.7 inches and it really is more like 5.7...Soooo, with both lens caps on (front and back) how big is it?!?!

With both caps on, 7.5 inches. I just measured mine... When they measure the lens length, they are measuring from the camera body to the tip, not including the flange depth that gets buried in the camera.
