I just purchased and received the Sigma Fisheye 15mm f/2.8 EX DG Diagonal Fisheye . The thread about the Peleng 8mm came up and I am dying to have one of those.
So, I am thinking of sending my new 15mm back and getting a Sigma Wide Angle 28mm f/1.8 EX Aspherical DG DF Macro Autofocus Lens, and getting a refund on the rest, or a new backpack! haha And then getting the Peleng as well.
Since I shoot weddings, neither of these lenses would sit or go to waste. Plus, I can always use them in other portraits and concert photography as well.
So, My question is, is this a good choice? Also, does anyone have any pictures from a 28mm Wide Angle lens? I want to see if it is what I am going for.
Thanks,
Lorrie

Why, exactly, would you want a 28mm prime on a D70? Is it just to have the speed? That lens qualifies as a "normal" lens on a 1.5 crop camera... I mean, if you like it you like it, but it's NOT a wide angle by any stretch of the imagination...
Just curious...

Can you suggest a good wide angle that's fast for the D70? Preferably one that B&H sells!? :)
I need a good wide angle for low light for weddings. I have been making due with the Sigma 28-70mm 2.8 for now.

| If it's a more extreme fisheye you desire, look at the nikon 10.5mm fisheye. I think you'll find that this is a better choice than the Peleng. The Peleng will leave the corners dark and thus require some cropping or partial defishing. The nikon 10.5 is made to have an image circle appropriate for the APS-C sized sensor. I'm quite sure the optical quality at the outer limits of the image circle is better than the Peleng as well. |

Nikon has an incredibly good lens in the 14mm f/2.8D ED AF Nikkor: downside is it costs about $1,200.00...
Their 20mm f/2.8D AF Nikkor is MUCH less expensive at around $350.00, but nowhere near as wide. By all accounts, a very nice lens.
The Sigma 14mm f2.8 EX Aspherical is a decent lens at around $750.00, from what I have heard.
I'm not aware of any truly "fast" WA zooms. If speed is your priority, you need a prime. The aforementioned Tokina 12-24mm is a very nice lens if you can live with f/4.0.
