I posted on here last week confused, overwhelmed, and asking for help with some senior portraits. Thanks to everyone who gave me tips. This was my first stab at it, and I knew them personally, so I didn't charge anything (except for dinner at a Mexican restaurant after the shoot was over). It was raining on us when we started, and stormy all afternoon, so I had to do some white balance tweaking. I ended up with about 150 useable images that I uploaded to MPIX for them to print/download at their own free will. Here are a few shots from the shoot. Comments are welcome, as always.

:) Looks like you had some nice settings! All in all i think they turned out great for your first time and I'm sure you learned a lot! :)

For showing me who she is ... I like #3 the most. Beautiful image of a beautiful girl. For composition, WOW... I LOVE #8. You'll have to blow that one up pretty big (say 18x24") to really see her in the photo, but if you display it at that size it'll really knock her socks off!
The rest of the images feel like you've probably PP'd them with a softening filter. It looks okay ... except around the eyes. Mask out the softness around the eyes and lips so that the image still appears to be in sharp focus.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Hopefully she'll like them. As for the lighting, most of the shots were lit with a lightsphere, and what wasn't was lit with ambient lighting. The lightsphere was a lifesaver. It was amazing how it made a difference even pointed straight up in the wide outdoors. |

I figuired you were using some sort of diffuser for these. That lightsphere is one handy piece of Tupperware. I love mine.
